Page 48, Goal 8 of the UN Report on the Millennium Development Goals 2009 says this:
“Net disbursements of official development assistance (ODA) in 2008 increased to 10.2 per dent to $119.8 billion, the highest dollar figure ever recorded. That is equivalent to 0.3 per cent of developed countries’ combined national income.”
This is rounded up to $120 billion dollars and converted to sterling at a rate of 0.603 into £72.3 billion.
Page 49, Goal 8, UN Report on the Millennium Development Goals 2009 says this:
“In general aid is targeted to the poorest countries (that is, those countries classified as ‘least developed’ or as low- or lower-middle income). The 49 least developed countries (LDCs) receive about a third of all aid flows.”
All aid flows in 2008 came to $119.8 billion at 33% = $39,534 billion converted to sterling at 0.603 comes to £23.84 billion.
